Officers:

Marcin Lis – Chair

I’m an adventure-loving runner who thrives on the mountain trails. I’m passionate about an active and healthy lifestyle, and I’m dedicated to making a positive impact in the community. I moved to Northstowe in 2019, and I’ve been an active member of Northstowe Sports & Wellbeing since 2020, helping to promote fitness and wellbeing for all.

Ioana Sovago – Treasurer

I’m passionate about sports, fitness, and overall wellbeing, with a strong interest in promoting inclusive and healthy lifestyles. Trained in neurodiversity, I bring a thoughtful and supportive approach to everything I do. Currently, I serve as Chair of both the Table Tennis and Chess clubs, as well as Treasurer for Sports and Wellbeing. I enjoy strategic games like table tennis and chess, and love engaging with our community through these activities.

Thao Nguyen – Secretary

Since moving to Northstowe in 2022, I have been inspired by the town’s energy and potential. While I am not naturally the most active or outgoing person, I care deeply about wellbeing and about creating spaces where people feel connected and supported. I believe that community is built through everyday acts of collaboration, encouragement, and kindness, and I enjoy being part of initiatives that bring neighbours together. I’m looking forward to contributing my time and ideas to help strengthen the bonds that make Northstowe a wonderful place to live.

Kathy Males

I moved to Northstowe in 2018 and am a founder member of the sports and wellbeing committee as sport is a great way to not only keep fit but also meet new people. It was good to be involved in setting up taster sessions for the very first residents.

I’m a great believer in trying to find some activities you like -because then you will go back to them again and again. For myself this is yoga, swimming, badminton and cycling. What’s your sport?

David Slights

I’m keen to promote Sport and Wellbeing across all generations. Being the Chair of the Longstanton at Northstowe Bowls Club and a member of the Northstowe Sport and Wellbeing group provide the perfect platform to do this.  Traditionally, Lawn Bowls has been seen as an older person’s sport but here at Northstowe we’re working hard to change this image by running Bowls Taster sessions with the Northstowe Secondary College, the Martin Bacon Academy, the Cubs, Scouts and youth groups. I would love to see a junior section in the Bowls Club, with both parents and grand-parents in attendance.
